Vertical Transportation (VT) - Lift and Escalator Maintenance Contract Negotiation and Client Works Monitor

PAS were appointed to undertake negotiation with the lift manufacturer and ongoing maintenance of the lifts at one of the City of London’s recently constructed iconic high rise buildings.

The 36 storey building has 2 escalators, 2 cycle lifts, 2 goods lifts, 2 firefighting lifts and 11 twin lifts installed, the twin lifts incorporate the latest elevator technology with two lifts operating independently in a single shaft.

PAS engaged with the manufacturer and the client to provide a maintenance specification that ensured that all of the lifts are maintained to the highest standards to ensure ongoing reliability and safety, whilst obtaining the best value for money for the client. We were able to obtain cost savings of £180,000 per annum over the lift manufacturers original cost submission, while also negotiating for the inclusion of a site resident lift engineer during normal working hours.

In addition, we have been appointed to provide a VT Consultant on site for two days a week to monitor the completion of construction phase snagging to the lifts, and implementation of the operational maintenance regime, liaising between the various parties to ensure a smooth transition to a fully operational building.
